About Us

CIVIC is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit dedicated to bring the power of big tech to small communities. We identify the small ways technology can make big local impacts on our society, security and circumstances. After publicly sourcing project ideas, our board forms teams from our curated volunteer pool to make it happen!

Government and Big Business won't solve all our problems. CIVIC will act as the organizing vessel through which technologists, designers, researchers and strategists come together to solve problems and enact their own change.

Tools of our Trade

1. Insight Nights

Quarterly, single-evening events to connect nonprofits and community organizers to Seattle's best creative, strategic and technology talent for free insights and advice.

2. Field Trips

Educational, onsite visits for information or hands-on learning for nonprofits and community organizers; a window to the Northwest's most useful technologies and resoureces.

3. SWOT Teams

Strategically hand-crafted teams to address a specific question within an organization or government department. SWOTs commit to 3 days of engagement to understand and analyze a problem.

4. Action Projects

Community sourced action projects to make an impact. Finite, 3- or 6- month projects that can involve larger teams and more oversight. Impact reports made available after each project show measureable results.
